i used zip strip or stripeze. i cant remember exactly which one. then i used a wire brush on a drill and cleaned it to the bare metal. then u got it sprayed the same color as my car

I used this paint remover call air craft coating remover, this stuff works insanely good, dont have to wait over night for the stuff to work, takes 5-10 minutes max then you wipe the paint right off.

I think a gel type paint removers would work well in this application..and they dont' run...kinda like the consistency of mayonnaise. We use that stuff on boats when it has to hang off the bottom but not drip so it can remove the paint.
